The Apple Tree    Family run restaurant, The Apple Tree at Gosfield lake has been getting rave reviews on trip-advisor lately and throughout December will be having Christmas Party Nights on Fridays and Saturdays.

Freeport Braintree    At Freeport Braintree this month you can get onboard the Braintree Express! between Friday 23rd November and Christmas Eve. A train station will be popping up at Freeport Braintree where you can enjoy a magical experience with beautiful sets, traditional Christmas characters and photo opportunities.
Guests will check into the station before boarding the Braintree Express and experience a fully immersive, virtual reality trip to the North Pole; hear a story from Mrs Claus and then meet Santa!
Tickets are available to buy now online at 4.50 for adults and 8.50 for children - and each child will receive a wrapped present during their visit. Terms and conditions apply.

The Surgery in Coggeshall    Raising much needed funds for fantastic local charity the St Helena Hospice, The Surgery in Coggeshall are hosting a Christmas stall on Friday the 23rd of November from 9.30 -12.30 lots of lovely homemade gifts are on offer why not pop in, the more the merrier.

on the 24th, you can meet some of the Leisure FM presenters who will be entertaining shoppers with music, fun and prizes under the Bandstand from 10am onwards. Come down and say hello.
on the 8th of December, farmer Gemma brings some live animals to the Yard. Come along and meet them, and see how they're cared for.
on the 9th, a very special Santa, who can communicate using British Sign Language, will be visiting especially to meet children with hearing difficulties. If you know of a child that might enjoy this particular Santa please let them know as he will only be visiting on this one occasion and must be prebooked using the form available on the George Yard web page.

Empire Theatre    Over at the Empire Theatre in Halstead . . .
on Sunday the 25th Simon and Garfunkel - Through the Years celebrates the unmistakable sounds of the duo as interpreted by"Bookends" who have been performing their world class concert to audiences in some of the finest theatres in the UK, Europe and the US.
Saturday the 1st of December sees the start of panto season at the Empire as The Snow Queen takes to the stage, all usual traditions are upheld so you can cheer the goodies and boo the baddies. Tickets are a bargain 5 for children and 7 for adults.

Timbers    The Timbers Restaurant, at Blake House Craft Centre in Blake End, Braintree are now taking bookings for their Christmas Party Nights which begin on the Friday the 30th of November and continue from Wednesday to Saturday night throughout December. Braintree Arts Theatre    At the Braintree Arts Theatre . . .
on the 30th, Totally Tina, the internationally acclaimed tribute revue, re-creates the energy of Ms Turner's shows with a six piece live band, four stunning dancers, and an incredible impersonation of one of the queens of rock and soul. It's 'simply the best' and tickets are priced at 20.
on Saturday the 1st of December We Three Kings will be making a welcome return with their rock 'n' roll Christmas show celebrating the music of Billy Fury, Buddy Holly and Elvis. All your Christmas favourites from Jingle Bell Rock to White Christmas, all done in true rock n roll style. Ticket price is 18.50 with discounts for concessions and under 16s.

West Street Vineyard    West Street Vineyard are running their very popular Christmas Afternoon Tea's again this year from the beginning of December. At 18.95 per person and 10.95 for children and you can try a delicious glass of their award wining fizz from their own vineyard. These afternoons are very popular and are booked up very quickly so why not treat yourself and a friend to this great festive outing.

Braintree Town Hall    Christmas Afternoon Tea is on offer at Braintree Town Hall on Saturday the 8th of December from 2-5pm fantastic catering is provided by Katie and a selection of sandwiches savouries cakes and tea, coffee or a glass of wine if you prefer all for 18. Tabor Illuminations    Gary Miller is decorating his house in Tabor Avenue, Braintree again for Christmas.
The Christmas decorations will be on display from 10th December, between 4:30 and 9:00pm every day until the new year, and there will be lots of new lights this year.
Donation boxes will be out, collecting money for Essex and Herts Air Ambulance. All donations will be gratefully received.
Gary would like to see his whole road decorated for Christmas, so if any of his neighbours in Tabor [tAy-bor] Avenue would like help with decorations, please contact him.

Marks Hall Gardens and Arboretum    Marks Hall Gardens and Arboretum [R-bor-E-tum] are running a series of events over the festive season.
On the 11th of December you can enjoy a festive high tea in the cosy surroundings of their traditional Essex Barn, where guests can enjoy exclusive access to the Arboretum.
Later there will be Christmas lunches on various dates, a Winter Ball 'Dinner and Dance' on two separate nights; and for your little ones, breakfast with Santa is also on offer.
